Exactly TMP. I have four mares in the pasture people swear are pregnant. Are they? Nope, never been exposed to a stud and the only gelding we have was gelded at 3.5 months old...

Mares can also go through phantom pregnancies as well. For the health of the mare if pregnancy is EVER suspected the horse should be seen by a vet ASAP.

Foal
I know just as little about pregnant mares as you do, so I'm probably not much help. If I could guess I'd say yes, because her belly looks more than just full of hay and the udders look plump compared to a mare lesson horse I used to ride.

It would be especially helpful for you to look back at some older photos of her from months ago when you got her. Compare/contrast her shape, and maybe it'll be easier to notice the difference.

As people have said, gettin' a vet is the only true way to know. I vote that yes she is, and I hope that all goes smoothly for you and you can sell the foal so that things don't become too stressful for you. Goodluck!

Ditto! Everybody thinks the gelding I ride is pregnant. He looks like his "foal" is laying crosswise. Nothing wrong with him, he's just rubinesque.

My point is only that you really can't tell by looking at a horse.

My old pinto mare surprised us one morning when my mom had looked out the window and woke me with a hysterical scream: "Come fast!!!! Trinket has 8 legs!". She'd popped out a lovely little black filly during the night, even though we'd been riding and grooming her every other day and never suspected a thing. And none of us are particularly stupid.

Gelding looks pregnant, mare with legs all but sticking out didn't look pregnant at all.

Sorry, only a vet can really tell you for sure.

Would be more of a winner if the word was spelled correctly......

Rubenesque, as in referring to Peter Paul Rubens and the voluptuous women he painted.

She needs to be seen by one anyway just to make sure that she's healthy and see if there are any vaccinations she needs before foaling and if she is getting the nutrients she needs for a healthy foal.

Just from the shape of her belly, I would guess maybe so, but there are other things that can cause a preggo looking belly without the actual baby....like worms.

This is the best way to answer the OP's question; straightforward without sarcasm or pointedness. We CAN post our "guesses" here, based on the photos. That's all the OP is asking, is do we think she might be pregnant.

She looks like she would be bred to me. Her belly has the same hanging weight my bred mare does. Coupled with her teats, I'd say so. Has she ever had a foal before? Also, can you post pics of her at an earlier date so we can see what she looked like before she got the belly?

Was there sarcasm in my first post? No. My answer WAS straight forward and to the point. I also beleive it was probably an answer the OP didn't want to hear/read.

The second post? Not unless you are saying the magic 8 ball that Mike put up for threads/questions such as this is unacceptable to post...

No where did I see sarcasm before the OP went off about it. Nor did I see it afterwards.

Thank you for your outright opinion, I wanted help, not sarcasm.
She is hanging like she could be pregnant but the statement that bothers me most is I have been searching for a vet. Do you not have a vet?
What would you do in an emergency?
