Shelly feet genetic?

I debated whether putting this in Horse Health or here, but decided on here since the actual inquiry is in the breeding of a horse.

We've been working on my horses weak feet since the day we got him. He's otherwise healthy, he has a great coat. He has a daily hoof dressing and hoof supplement that he takes. He's now going shoeless and his feet are looking better than ever.

Recently my farrier commented on how his feet might just be genetic. So, my question is: I was wondering if either TBs or QHs have lines that are known for shelly feet?

My horse's pedigree: Smokin Champus Quarter Horse

Any names stick out?

If I really should have put this somewhere else, let me know. P: Sorry.

I don't know that certain horses are known for shelly feet, but I can tell you I had a appendix qh that was sired by Ronas Ryon, out of Go Man Go, and she had a club foot. Her hooves were pretty good, but that one foot - man alive, that screwed up your eyes to look at it.
