    They are tobianos. I have been told by my vet that they can not carry that gene

    that is very incorrect. Most tobianos, arent just tobiano, there is some other pattern at play. Tobiano does not put white on the face. That's some other pattern.

    Frame can pop up anywhere. Including on solid colored horses. All breeding horses should be tested. Even if they don't show outward signs.

    Im sorry that your vet led you down the wrong path in regards to LWO. For your sake, I hope to foal is healthy. But id test both mare and stallion for any future breedings.

    Your vet is correct in the sense that just tobiano doesn't carry OLWS. However, as others have mentioned above, unless you test, you don't actually know all of the patterns that may be present as they sometimes don't express fully or are masked by other patterns. There is a user on here, whose mare has a medium sized blaze (if I remember correctly) and no hint of pinto markings and has tested positive as a carrier for OLWS, so you really just never know. Not trying to scare you, just inform you.
