Stallion decision. Help?

I have finally decided to breed my mare. The one in my profile pic. She is hanoverian. I should provide a better pic so you can get an idea of conformation, ect. I waited 6 long years and finally have narrowed it down to two choices. Maybe some input to help me decide?

Here is the first: Don Schufro

The second is his son Don Romantic

I can't quite decide, they are both everything I want.

Just based on the videos, I like Don Schufro.
He looks to be a better mover and a smoother ride.

Although my cell only let me see part of the movies, I like Don Schufro.

I'm voting Don Schufro. You really do have a hard decision! But my thinking is, you have an idea what his offspring are like, so why not breed to the sire of Don Romantic? He is an amazing mover, and looks like he will be a good pairing with your mare. Good luck!

could not see the don romantic video, the don shufro is older and better trained, what is the dam like on the don romantic? I would look at the dam on both the horses before deciding.

I am a big fan of Don Schufro, he is a very well bred and performed stallion, with some exceptional progeny on the ground.

Sorry, forgot to add in my last post, but any chance of seeing some conformation shots, and movement videos of your mare? As either stallion may be more suited to her, depending on her own strengths and weaknesses.

Well, I talked to my vet last night and he tells me that Don Schufro is too big for my 9 year old maiden mare who, for a warmblood, is rather on the small side. She is 16 hands and very petite. Very feminine but he thinks I should look for one closer in size to her. That's not easy. Most WB stallions are somewhere around 17 hands. There is one I might consider. I will post a pic of him when I find it. Ugh, this is harder than I thought it would be. I will also try and get a better shot of my girl.

What is your mare's breeding??

The size of the stallion has little bearing on the size of the foal in the womb, it will only grow as big as the mare lets it (is what I have heard at least).
Which stallion to breed to depends on the lineage of your mare. You might want to look into Dancier as another Donnerhall stud with good offspring and I would highly recommend a Florestan stallion, Freestyle is a very good choice (assuming you are in NA).
I would recommend also breeding more towards a very ridable horse than something with fancy movement. Freestyle's offspring are proving to be very amateur friendly, but still with movement and power to win in the ring.

Good luck!
