stallion nipping mare

Hi, I have a stallion and a mare. They are mini pony

Stallion has been getting on well with our mare, but today he started to nip her legs when trying to breed.

She in season and was letting him mount her.

Why is this?

He's mixing up the foreplay?

He's a horse doing what horses do. I hope this is a planned breeding.

Flowers - welcome to the forum.

However, I must ask some questions. How knowledgeable are you in the breeding of horses? I tend to think maybe not a whole lot, since there is no such thing as a 'mini pony'. There are ponies and horses and Mini Horses. Also, you didn't know about stallion behaviour. What breed are you actually dealing with? If a Miniature Horse, then you will absolutely need to know about all the problems, Minis have when foaling and be prepared for the worst. Very prepared.
