I agree with all that is stated above. I'm really into what they plan to do with the foal and of course the conformation, temperment, and type. I will not touch a HYPP N/H, H/N, or H/H. Too many risks and it isn't fair to the horse in general. I would only concider N/N though providing it hasn't had any issues with tying up in the past especially. Certain traits should be passed on but not all.

All the stallions i breed my mares to are "to approved mares only". This will keep the price of foals up be. Because there are less foals and you know they are all from good mares.

The stud this year only breeds 7 mares or less a year.

Definitely, i wont just let him to any mare. There are to meny unwanted horse out there.

This year I have refused to breed to mares because of poor conformation,
condition of the mare, and the finances of the mare owner.
I do live cover only and you must bring your mare here so I let the owners know that I have the final approval.
If I know that you do not own property and are planning on breeding a mare I ask a lot more detailed questions.
I have seen too many owners that board who must suddenly sell a horse because they cannot afford to pay for board. Shalom
