Stallions Age Limit for Breeding

Just wondering at what age (about, I know it's not exact) a stallion stops a)producing effective sperm and b) producing for other reason. What are the other reasons and at what age more or less does this occur? Any info would be great. Thanks!

It really depends on the stallion, I have heard though after 20 it is more difficult and the sperm is not as strong. The stud where I board is 17 and he will be retiring soon.

It does depend on the stallion but you can collect him and have his semen evaluated for sperm count and motility. Some stallions can be quite active even in old age.
