    Well hopefully theres no issues if she's pregnant. But I know some one who was trying to breed her standardbred for a while. And she got fatter but never took to the stallion. Even though she thought she was pregnant for a while. She actually wasnt.. it would be easier to tell with a more recent photo. And from the front of the mare. The breeder I got my colt from had a few june foals. And the mares looked huge.

    The mare is open! Just a big fat girl. We've taken her out of the pasture to dry lot her and start doing some ground work...Bummer about no baby, but glad she's healthy! The vet just thinks the bulge I was worried about is from those darn biting flies irritating her navel area.

    My uncle is a breeder of fantastic horses. He says that horses will hold into there young inside them due to bad weather, not feeling safe etc anything that they think might cause a threat to them and baby. Also some will hide the fact they are pregnant from predators. Another theory is that mares hold into colts longer.

    Hope this helps abit. Also it's an interesting fact :)
