Your mare is rather underweight. Id start upping her feed now. I don't know where you live but winter is right around the corner for us and you need to start now in order for her to make it through the winter and into the late months of her pregnancy at a healthy weight.
She may be a harder keeper, but thatll only get worse when she's in the 3rd trimester as that is when the foal grows the most. Posted via Mobile Device
She is much plumper now. I was actually a little off when this picture was taken. This was right after she had been with the stallion. And I did pasture breeding so they were pretty busy for a month and she dropped some weight. She is definitely back up to par now. Will post a current pic when I go see her tonight!
YAY! Congrats! Can't wait to see the foal:) my mare is maiden as well and this is our first foal too!! Its very exciting!! Good luck with everything...and no matter what the foals ends up with characteristic wise...it will be a part of your girl to carry on!!!
