Very glad you were there. When Chilly foaled, I got out there 2 hours late. Foal was already standing and dry. If something had gone wrong, I'd have been too late.

Sorry for your loss. The same thing happened to us when I was a little kid and the foal had to be removed in the same fashion. I'm glad you were there so that Sunny at least survived.

Vet deemed her in perfect condition for foaling....it was just bad luck on my part. My mare by far was not underweight by any means. :-/ Cannot please everyone though! Pssh.

So sorry Never a pleasant experience. Mare looked good to me, just one of those crapola things that can go wrong and unfortunately did.

Anyone who breeds for any lenght of time is going to have a "foaling gone wrong" experience. I am just so sorry it happened to you with your heart horse & you long awaited foal.

Update on Sunny: She is healing well, quickly going back to her normal self. She's on lots of meds and stuff to help her heal, should be able to start back into riding work in a week or so! Thankful she is okay!
