Tango foaled!

9:25am, how nice! :)

I got her in Oct. She wasn't supposed to be pregnant. When I suspected she was, I asked prev owner if she might. She said she shouldn't be, never had her with her mini stallion. Later I remembered she also had mini donks, not sure if she knows they can breed horses, too? LOL But the stallion and mare did share a fenceline and I've heard of breeding through a fence. I figured I'd wait until the baby was born and send her an email with pics haha

So I THINK it's a mini mule? It's a colt and spunky! Before he even figured out walking (which he started at about 15 minutes old!!) he was trying to run and buck! LOL

My husband wants to name him John Locke and call him Locke. I DID say he can pick the name as long as I ok it lol

Doesn't look like a mule to me, he's very cute! I'd love to hear what the previous owner say's now!

Those are some pretty long ears for a Miniature foal! It's definitely a possibility - donkey foals are blatantly obvious, but mule foals can spend the first little while looking much like horse foals due to the already small size proportions.

I couldn't find any photos of a miniature mule foal, but I found these of full size mule foals and I could see how this foal could pass for a horse at birth!

A smaller but older mule foal:

Aside from the ears, they could pass for horse foals! Hehehehehe, I think a miniature mule will be SO cute!

Right now I'd say horse foal, those pics look like mules to me, the op's foal doesn't, although I could be wrong! We'll see how he looks when he gets alittle older.

He's definitely a little cutie! His parking out is so funny. I don't see donk in him either--maybe a little in the face, but his head is the right proportion.

I just can't get over how DARK he is uderneath, EVERYWHERE. If I were to shave him, he'd be black!

ANd he's like a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, the hair on his "dorsal" grows up/forward! Anyone ever see that before? It's so cool ;)

He's so cute, and I actually really like the name your hubby picked, lol. I'm curious to see if, as he grows, he actually turns out to be a little mule!
