I'm on the gelding side.
I love your horses though, TrueColours. I think this is the first I have seen of them. That last mare looks like she just floats.

Fjord Mule!

I am thinking about breeding my Fjord to a mammoth jack. I already found a nice stud, but I still have a lot of planning to do. (Get the mare vet checked, research more, etc.) Sorry I don't have any pics of them, maybe I'll post some later.

Audra - I LOVE LOVE LOVE your mare!!! I am such a Clyde fan - I love the athleticism of them and I rode so many Clyde crosses as a kid, in the jumper ring, they can also usually jump the moon as well

Hey - whats with all of you and the geldings that can't be bred?!

On the other hand, that might be the smartest move of all ... when you have mares PLUS a stallion, they have this way of multiplying ...

Beautiful, Bet its hard to look after all them!
Actually its not so bad to be honest. I have the 9 right now, with one mare still down in the States and 2 of those foals in with their dams. I have one more foal to go which will put me up to 10. It looks like the Nightlight filly is sold and she'll leave in a couple of weeks, so that puts me to 9, the Remember My Name colt leaves around June, so we're down to 8 and then once the Pearlescent filly gets weaned, she'll leave around September so that will put me at 7 going into winter and hopefully I'll get one more sold as well putting me down to 6 ... which is a nice number!

Surely there must be someone out there breeding for 2010 foals whose mares are confirmed in foal already???

Puchi Trap back to Guaranteed Gold for the 7th straight sibling in a row ...
7th straight? Don't you give your mares a break at all?

All I pay my psychiatrist is cost of feed and hay, and he'll listen to me any day!

I thought that I'd heard somewhere that you'd sold Guaranteed Gold. Did the sale fall through?

Are you absolutely sure you wanna mess with my carrots?

No plans of ever breeding my mare, or my geldings, though this winter I could have sworn my app gelding was pregnant!

TrueColors- Thank you for the compliment, we are enjoying her, such a pleasure to ride! I love your Stally, after looking at your site I'm positive I've visited it before.

Wonder what my mare would throw with him as the stud.... thoughts

He was supposed to be sold and going to Scotland along with 4 others The deal did fall through as the prospective buyer encountered some difficulties that made her change her focus and her plans. I wish her all the best going forward - this would have been win/win for both of us and its a real shame it never came to pass

As per any repro vet you speak with, a broodmare's job is to have foals and if they need a year off, they will tell you very very clearly by simply not GETTING in foal and it will be that simple

Because of how late she has foaled each year (June) we give her one chance and one chance only to get in foal as I do NOT want a July foal. If she doesnt conceive on that first and only cover post foaling, she will get a year off so we can start earlier the next year. So far - she has always done so. Her health is excellent - reproductively and physically - and she always looks fabulous so there is never any cause for concern that she is looking terrible or acting "off" and needs a year off either

Believe me - if this mare's health or well being was EVER compromised by being in foal, she wouldnt BE in foal. Period ...
