Daddy is very handsome by the way! Good looking mamma too!

I wasnt meaning you were wrong. Filly just looked exactly like him when she was born, I thought shed be buckskin. But she darkened considerably as she aged and turned out bay. She was from a sorrel mare and black stallion. Like I said, color genetics are definitely not my forte, hehe.
Oh no worries I was just trying to give you some information. Your filly didnt have a chance of being a buckskin because she lacked the cream gene. Tilly (the momma) was really light when she was a baby too and darkened as she got older. Which he may darken up(im hoping not!) but not to the red/bay color. Its really cool how the genetics work!

Thank you! Momma isnt liking no body around right now. Espiecally if I have a rope or halter. She's being very protective. Im able to pet the lil guy all over. He's just a friendly boy. Momma keeps moving him away though. Im hoping in a couple days she will come around. She's just very protective of her baby boy.

Your mare is lovely, & your colt so precious! Nice daddy you picked also. If Rain is feminine, how about Thunder? Hopefully she will get less protective, at least towards you,so you can handle the foal-it's quite an experience!
