Wow, that was good to see that baby doing so well! Are minis particularly prone to red bag? I've seen three red bag births over the years, two survived but one did not. All three were minis. I know I saw more unusual births when I worked at Double Diamond then all other births combined...I guess minis can just be more likely to have difficulties?

Wow - you know her? I have watched a lot of her other videos and just came across this latest one on YouTube last night. Very cool. They seem to really love their little horses!

That was amazing. I watched my first ever horse birth just last week and now I get to see a miracle birth. It was just awesome. The Lord was watching over that baby.

Indyhorse, minis are prone to more foaling complications of many sorts, yes. With minis, you GOTTA be there to make sure all is well, and help if not! Neat that you worked at Double Diamond, they're very nice people :) Did they have Kiowa when you were there? They recently sold her, and I know they didn't have her long. I soooo want her. She's out of one of my mares, but born before I owned the mare.

Themacpac, yup, Beth and her family are about an hour from me, and super nice. Her website (that one of her daughters does) is very helpful and educational! I love reading it and their foaling diaries on it :)

I love following their site - her girls come across as so cute in the videos and blogs.

CheyAut ~ I don't remember Kiowa but it's been several years since I worked there. They have an entirely different stallion roster now with the exception of Thief. When I worked there they just had Thief, Blue, Magnificent (who I believe died) and AJ. But as I said it's been about 2 years ago since I spoke to Jana last, I had to quit when I moved from Warsaw to another town. I ought to give her a call. :)
