Weaning Miranda

Day 1 of weaning Miranda she is 3 mths old and Angel my easy keeper is looking a little on the slim side so its time Miranda is pretty much nursing out of comfort Angel seems thrilled I put her on our separate pasture with the cows and left Miranda with the rest of my herd to help with her stress. Cross fingers its uneventful and goes smoothly lol.

As that is such a young age to wean, please be sure you have the filly on a quality high protein jr feed.

I have also had to wean horses young due to the mares condition. Hate doing it but sometimes you have to.

I do wish you could put the other one in with other horses. It would be a better comfort to her than cows.

Angel has been trying to wean her for a few weeks now squeals and small kicks . Angel is fine with the cows she's one of those who doesnt care where she is as long as she has food. Miranda is on pasture This isnt my first go with a a foal at weaning time it is the first done at 3.5 months.
