Make sure you have time to work with them!!!!!!! A border where I ride bred his mare three times (one die from lethal white) and now has two young horses (ages 1 and 2) both of which are barely halter broke and now he says that he is disappointed with the gelding (who is 2) and now says that they are now belonging to his granddaughters (one of which is a very beginner rider and the other one has been out at the farm once in the past 3 years. So basically make sure you have the time to work with them cause they are like small children, sponges, and you don't want to deal with a barely train older horse cause when they are younger you can kinda out manuver them and they still don't now that they are stonger than you. :)
