River is 1/4 Arabian and 3/4 Draft mix. I have shown her successfully in rail classes, gymkhana, dressage, and jumping. Additionally, she has been part of our working horse string, spending 4 months of daily riding and packing in the mountains with never an issue of health or soundness. She carries a bloodline that is sentimental to myself and my mother, and I intend to keep the foal. He/She would be used for all-around showing, as well as lots of trail riding for hunting trips and pleasure. Although River is obviously not an expensive purebred mare, I see no reason why I wouldn't be super picky about who I'm going to breed her to :)
I'm looking for a stud who is at LEAST 15hh, and to add some athletic ability/refinement to the resulting foal. He needs to have a great hind end (just not sure 100% what I should be looking for)... as River is cow hocked. Additionally, I'm looking to add "more" to her hind end because she, as you can see, is heavier in the front than rear.. and colour would be awesome too. If anyone has any other suggestions i'd love to hear them!
the second stud down, Little Joes Last Day. I do have more photos of him but not sure if I can post them...? http://hp-horses.tri...stallions-.html
2nd stud, Frenchs Hula Guy http://northernhorse...?ltype=stallion
A bit further away, and a higher stud fee but wowza http://www.1yquarter...ne_goldmine.htm
annnnnnnd a couple Thoroughbreds. So impressive.... do I really want to cross her with a TB though or should I stick with QH?? The only reason I say that is I'd like to balance out her relatively light hind end (in comparison to her front end). However, I have always wanted to cross up a horse like River ... the type that my family has been breeding for 30 years... to something like a Thoroughbred. Just don't know if it's a ridiculous cross or what. http://www.blazingco...m/Eldorado.html http://www.blazingco...goldentime.html
And here is River.. I will dig for more photos later
hope it works...
