What is my 2012 foal bred for?

So we bought this mare this past may, infoal. I have no idea what I am going to do with the foal. I bought the mare for my daughter.

Anyway, im sure you want his/her's breeding..

Sire: Dun City Double Jack Quarter Horse
Dam : Charcoal Drifter Paint

So, the question is, what will he/she be bred for?

Sire is around 15.1 , Mare is 14.3.

Without clicking on the links, I would guess some old school cow/ranch horse lines mixed with a little ruuning Quarter....sounds like a jam up little rope horse.

Hmm, not really cow horse breeding.. Two Eyed Jack was an amazing AQHA Hall of Fame Halter horse but that's the only horse on the sire's side that jumps off of the page at me. The rest isn't that great on the sire's bloodlines.

The dam's is what worries me. Her bloodlines go to back Impressive, who is a horse that carried and passed on a genetic problem called Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis. There are a lot of threads around the forum on HYPP and you can search for more information on the web but it's not something to play with. Do you know if the mare was ever tested for HYPP? I'm not really familiar with the APHA bloodlines..Someone else can tell you more about their role on the dam's side.

Two Eyed Jack lines may not be used for show cowhorses, but a ton of ranch horses have Two Eyed Jack.

A lot of people don't like the Music Mount bred horses, they like to buck, but they are dirty tough.

And my best friend has a barrel horse who has Two Eyed Jack on her papers but he is most widely known for his foals that were/are proven halter horses.

Yes he was known as Halter horse, but that was back in the day when halter horses were supposed to be a breed example and could perform..lol! His offspring had a lot more performance points than halter if I am not mistaken...however I have been known to be wrong..**** it.
