White Thoroughbred "medicine hat" born in South Africa

In South Africa, a white Thoroughbred colt was born in September last year on a racehorse farm called Rathmor Stud. They also bred Graham Motion's Gypsy's Warning. He has been named Gran Blanco, both parents are bay, his grandsire is Rakeen, a half-brother to Rahy. Apparently he is the first of his kind in South Africa. Click on these two links to see him:

And then I also found this, the stud's website itself with pedigree and pics:

Rathmor Stud: Thoroughbred Foals - Gran Blanco

I think there is a Japanese White TB racing called Marshmellow, this little guy is going to attract attention when he starts racing.

He may be the first of his kind in South Africa but Native Dancer, Mr Prospector, Nearo related horses have been throwing wild color for a long time.

Yes, and he is inbred to all those horses. Rumour has it his grandmother Perfick, from New Zealand was an odd colour, half chestnut and half grey. I found a photo of a grey filly she produced herself.

Agreed I would like to hear about this too, as its very rare for a TB to be an odd colour...There was another foal I found a story on in SA also born by Black Minnaloushe - you must see the pic, its half black and half bay - the weirdest thing ever! Must be something in the water here

KZN Breeders : Unusual Foal Born At Milkwood Stud this is the half black half bay filly. I saw on fb that the breeder says he suspects as the mother is a grey, that this foal will gradually change to grey.
