Why did my horse come out white?

My 7 year old paint horse is all white. He has a brown head and brown patches on his side. His mane is white and his tail is black.

His sire is Will Spot Ya. He's all brown with some white. His dam is she's a real fantasy. She's all black with some white. Why did my horse turn out to be white? I have seen some of the will spot ya horses and there mostly brown with some white. I miss having a brown horse.

Thanks.

Your horse is carrying several pinto genes at once. If its the horse in your avatar here is what I think :)

Your horse is:

Tobiano--causes the bay on the head and flank color and usually a chest shield.

Splash--will cover up Tobiano markings like chest shields etc. In maximum splash the horse will be all white. Some don't like splash because it can cause a horse to be mostly white. But splash can also hide. Splash also causes blue eyes. I have had the best outcome by breeding splash mares to a minimal tobiano to get more even color

He's probably also carrying one of the Sabino genes which also puts white on the head and lower legs

Your horse is bay which accounts for the black tail. If he was a solid horse he would be bay with a black mane and tail but the pinto genes altered that.
