I acquired a beautiful young chocolate bay colt at the age of 6 months, he is now 2years + and breeding age, however he is still kinda small. He is very well tempered though and due to past experience I know he'll get some size, I'm probably just a little anxious but I want to breed him to my AQHA MARE who is 8 and has already foaled twice. She came in season as soon as I brought him down from my mothers herd. She's willing as is he but he is at a loss for what to do.....exactly. I'm sure that nature will take hold and primal instincts will do the work but I wanted some input as she keeps looking at me like she is frustrated as can be. My question is, how long will she stay in season, 'bout a week I reckon. I just want him to breed so I can get him cut and hope I don't have to wait till the next go around, .......but I will.
Just any thoughts from experienced breeders please!
