i am just wondering what everyones fav kind of paint is......my all time favorite is the overo. their color is so splashy, although i have never owned one i just admire all the ones i see.
I would have to say Tovero. One of each gene. No matter what we breed our blue eyed black tovero mare to we are guaranteed color, and you never know which type of pattern you'll get out of her.
Bred to a black Canadian stallion for a few years now and we have gotten:
a black tobiano, Cache Frison Nymph
a black tovero with 1 blue eye, Cache Frison Promise
and this year a sorrel tovero! Cache Phenom Undercover

hi Jhickie - unless the mare is homozygous you are never gaurenteed a coloured foal - she has the ability to throw a solid baby from both the overo and toby side  also i believe this last foal is a straight frame overo not a tovero - have you got more pics of him??? He is very cute (forgive me if i am wrong). You should have a look at the article that i posted in the articles section - all about the geneology behind a new sabino 1 (sb1) gene that they have isolated. Really interesting read if anyone is interested.
I have to admit I went years where I didn't like coloureds/paints at all! *hides* but now I really like Tobianos... although it really depends on the individual horse... I recently saw an Overo that I thought wow, I could own that horse... so out of character for me!!! x
i just had another look at your foals jhickie and i am pretty sure the second one is straight overo too ;-) unless ofcoarse the mare IS homozygous and then all 3 carry the toby gene and i would be wrong
I agree with I Love Lane that Cache Frison Promise and Cache Phenom Undercover are overos and oh so pretty. Also allthough toveros do tend to throw a high color percentage they do not guarantee a colored foal.

she is a mare - he name is Ima Lover Too - won the world with her as a yearling but she would be 7 now. This is a photo that her new owners sent me (not new they have had her since she was 2 ) of her Mister GQ colt that was born last year on Valentines Day - Ironic when her name is Lover
I prefer the overo pattern myself, though with as much colour as white!
