10 yr Quarter horse (poss appendix), has branding, trying to find out where from?

I just rescued a sweet 10 yr old mare and she has a large branding on her shoulder and we are trying to place her heritage and where she came from. Does anyone know who this brand belongs to?

The dpt brands them? I was told she came from Texas off a ranch, and has been up here in WA about 5 months. Who do I contact to locate any info then? The DOA directly?

No, the Dept of Agriculture just has all the brands recorded. There is a small problem though....
Many people don't have their brand registered. Which doesn't make sense but that's another story

I have the same problem with a mare that was chased into my yard.
In Texas if you know the county you can find out who owns the brand.
However, in Texas there are 254 counties.
You may want to call the3 Texas and Southwester Cattlemens Ass.
Theya re responsible for checking brands at auctions and locqating stolen livestock.
The Dept of Agriculture will do you no good here. Shalom

WELL You could do the similar picture search but both you and I know that it won't come up with the results that are wanted!

If you do that leave the numberes part out.
Usually numbers in brands that look like that are a reference month/year born or a tag number for the mare
