Andy crosses!

Hi guys,

Lets hear about your andy crosses! I have a 5y.o, 15.2hh andy x tb, I started her early this year and she has really impressed me with her amazing intelligence and athletism. Of all the horses I've had she is definately the most talented and tuned in. Would love to know what everyone does with them! :)

Was just gonna make a similar thread! (Although I was gonna say Iberians, so we could see those Lusitanos as well!)

Here's my boy, Capataz! He's a 6 year old, andalusian/oldenberg gelding.

The plan is dressage with him. He seems to really have a head for it and enjoys it. Definitely a thinking horse that wants to be constantly communicating with you.

Wow... beautiful. Maybe I'll have to look at AndyXTB for my next horse. I'm impressed how lovely these horses are. Interested to see the others!

Got a probable/possible AndyxTB here - incredibly intelligent, very arrogant, big show off with gorgeous gaits, invisible goolies and a gigantic chip on his shoulder LOL. From what I've read the cross can be a bit of a lottery - they either come out looking amazing or looking like two different horses glued together. Brock is the latter I'm afraid (although he thinks he's Prince Charming...).

you'll have to show us a picture of Brock! he sounds like a real character! What do you do with him? I've heard the same about the crosses, I got Inka from an Andy stud at the rock (near Wagga NSW) the horses on this property were AMAZING. they were so beautiful but more importantly super friendly. When I went to inspect Inka she was an unbroken 4y.o and only knew how to lead, she'd barely been handled, when we went into the yard she was really inquisitve and interactive and sweet. I thought she was too good to be true so we went around the property and inspected all the horses and they were all like that, it what sold me on her! She can get the devil in her though when she has been doing nothing, that brain is always ticking and thinking of how to get into mischief!

Yes, we must see pictures! ;)

Capataz is incredibly gentle, especially around kids. His temperament is one of the best features passed down by his PRE andalusian father. It's just simply amazing. People still get shocked and I hear all the time: 'he's only SIX?'

My heart belongs to the Iberians and their crosses, never will I have anything else!

Here's my AndyxQH:

I got him just about 6 months ago, primarily for his temperament, and he has not disappointed. My equine dentist guessed his sire (Saphiro) the first time she saw him based on his temperament (and probably coloring, too)- she bred a mare to him years ago, but sold her before she foaled, and still regrets it to this day

Isn't Saphiro a Lusitano? Don't get me wrong, I love them and they belong in this thread with their fellow iberians, but just wanted to ask! =)
