Any idea what breed Sundance is?

For now all I have are pics but I want to put together a youtube video of him also.
We were told he was a Qtr horse, which is what most people have around here so when in doubt they always say "oh, he's just a Quarter Horse" lol.
He has white that extends down under his chin and he has an odd stocking. I haven't really checked for any belly white but the whites of his eyes usually show.
Based on his teeth and what others have said here he's around 4. All we know about his history he was left in a huge pasture with other mares and stallions and he was going to be shot so a lady got him, another stud, and a couple mares with foals and found them all homes except for Sundance so we got him as a free horse.
When we got him he was ribby, had several bite marks, had a minor wound on his right leg and didn't like people much, he was just very standoffish and unsure.
When he lopes it looks very smooth and he also has a nice trot, but he sometimes does a little odd gait, not sure what it is. He does it when he's in a fast trot.
He doesn't ever stand square, he seems to always stand in a semi-parked position lol.

He has an overstride also

You can see how that one stocking just narrows up his leg

One from a couple weeks ago:

And yesterday:

I'm guessing he's a Paint cross, just not sure what the cross is.

Any ideas?

Im not sure what kind of body type appys have but I know they show white around there eyes. You say he does a weird gait sometimes? He does kind of remind me of a TWH so maybe he's very distantly related to them? Or maybe its because he's uncomfortable? I don't know but best luck to you!

Is he gaits when he's doing a fast trot, he's probably pacing, not actually gaiting. I would suggest Paint cross, he doesn't look walker to me. He doesn't have a walker face. I would suggest maybe Standardbred/Paint, maybe somebody just taught him to park out? But if he paces that would be my guess, he also has a lean body. He could just be a paint/qh cross with a smooth movement. It's really hard to tell with no history information at all.

I agee with the above poster. He looks Paint or QH to me (only difference is Paints have TB in them). QH's come with odd markings as well, Same with TB's.
As for being parked out, that could just be the way he stands and not anything passed on from another breed.
A video of his movements would be easier to tell whether he is in fact gaited or just a nice mover.

Yes a video would help, but honestly I'd say QH/Paint. If quarter horses are common in your area, than it's probably likely that's what he is. Since if everybody has quarter horses, obviously that's what will be bred ;).

Actually, lilruffian, Quarter Horses can have TB in them as well. Three Bars was a TB yet he was a very influential sire when bred to QHs, so much so that he was even inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame. Paints carry QH blood too but there's a color rule that keeps Paints from being registered as QHs.

YouTube - Sundance- with Cherokee Morning Song
I didnt see him gaiting, so i'm going to stick with qh/paint cross. Good luck with him :), he's a cutie.

Thanks Rylie! I want him to gain more weight and add muscle, and I wish that poor tail would hurry and grow lol. He's a sweetheart. He loves attention more than Chanti does. I was sitting on a milk crate after trimming Chanti's hooves and he kept coming over and standing either right in front of me or right behind me with my head practically in his chest lol.
