Any Last Detail/Artful Investment Eventers?

I'll post this here since this seems to get the most action as far as breeds go.

I have been scoping out horses lately as I intend to purchase one in the next year (yes, I know lots of time, but I am overly picky and need time) and I cannot seem to get away from these two sires! I am looking for a TB type horse, but I love the way these horses look. I am really leaning towards an Appendix bred horse now.

I really want to get into Eventing. I am kinda afraid that these type of horses wouldnt excel at Eventing though as they are more hunter types.

Just curious to see if anyone is Eventing with their offspring.

Pics and comments welcome

An Appendix would definitely make a wonderful eventer as long as it's built right. I honestly love the stallion Last Detail, and I never thought I would say that about a Quarter Horse. I'm not quite as impressed by Artful Investment, not sure why, I just am not drawn to him very much.

If you can find an Appendix out of either one that's put together nicely I'd definitely go for it.

I like Last Detail, he throws some nice babies, a couple that I have had the pleasure of handling. His build is pretty close to a TB, so he would complement one well. I am a huge fan of appendix QHs, you have the best of both worlds, the athleticism of the TB, with the personality of a QH.

Now that I am looking at his pedigree, he appears to be an appendix himself...so I am not sure if he can be crossed on TBs. For some reason I thought appendix QHs could only breed to other QH or appendix QHs, but I could be totally wrong.

I *believe* that an Appendix horse is just registered AQHA, so I *think* they can be bred to a TB to produce an Appendix (AQHA) registerable horse.

Can anyone comment on this?

To get an Appendix you breed a QH to a TB. That gives you an Appendix QH. I don't think you can breed an Appendix to an Appendix but you can breed an Appendix to a QH.

I like The Last Detail and know a few folks that have his offspring. They do really well in the show ring. I love the Artful move babies...

That's what I was trying to say, I thought Appendix QHs could only be bred to full QHs. Thanks for clarifying the appendix x appendix thing too!
