AQHA reg question

I don't post much but read alot and look at pictures. I do have a question.
A couple of weeks ago I bought a QH mare. When I got her they gave me a folder with her papers in it. I had already looked at them when I tried her out to see how she was bred. Anyway I started through the folder and there was no transfer paper. The original owner is the only one listed on her papers and she was from Tennesee. I'm in Oklahoma. The people I got her from had he listed as a consignment horse that the were selling in their ad. Anyway The lady I got her from emailed me and said that she realized there should have been a transfer in the envelope and had talked to the man who owned her. He said if the paper is lost no problem I can download it off the internet.
So my question is doesn't this have to be signed by the last person who had their name on the papers? I guess the man they were selling the mare from must have had that and it was lost. Now what do I do. Do I send a transfer paper to the last person listed on her papers and hope that they are still at that address?
I really would like to get her reg in my name. If for nothing else proof of ownership.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance for any input

I realized maybe I didn't word this right. I hope it makes sense. Basically I bought a reg mare that didn't come with the transfer paper. Was told that I could download the paper off the AQHA site and then send it in. My question is doesn't it need to be signed off? I think she has probably changed hands a few times but wasn't reg. To anyone other then the original owner.

Green Broke
Call AQHA and find out who her last owner on her record is, after that, see if you can get in touch with said person, print off and mail them the transfer report, (good idea, make sure you also send them an envelope already filled out with a stamp on it), Hopefully you'll be able to get in touch with them and get things rolling. If not, you can probably contact AQHA and see what else you can do..
