Arabian Gurus, what can you tell me about Tyx?

I was looking to see if anyone can give me any information on the Arabian stallion Tyx. I know he has passed and that he was an endurance competitor. That's about it. I haven't been able to find any information on him. He is my Arabs' sire and I was just curious as to what I can learn about his lineage. If you have any information on his Grand-sire, Samtyr, as well, I'd appreciate it.

Thank y'all!

Well here's Tyx's pedigree Tyx Arabian

I'm no guru but it looks to me like most of the lines are racing Arabians, Polish bred. If you google Samtyr, you get a few hits about his racing career.

Yes, there is more on Samtyr out. I can actually see my boy in him. He got his hind end. There is a black and white photo of him and he looks almost exactly like my boy.

For some reason Tyx is harder to find. I found an article about his passing. Not much on his career. Or his temperament.

I know I'm biased due to my Polish heritage, but I like the Polish lines ;)

Thank you texasgal and BBBCrone.

Do any of you know anything about their temperament? My boy definitely has speed. Maybe someone has a picture of Tyx? I'd love to see how close they are.

The only thing I have to go on (as far as that particular line) is Aransas HF .. he acted more like a gelding than a stud .. put speed and ability into his foals.

Polish horses in general .. in my opinion .. are the thinking arabs .. They may not always have the typey heads and straight toplines, but they are generally athletic and smart ...

IMO .. you can't go wrong with a polish Arabian!

Actually....slightly over 3/4 Polish, rest is Crabbet.
And for racing bred....all Polish Arabians from that time are "racing bred".....the Polish used racing, just like the Russians, for selection. Only successfully raced horses went to the breeding barn.
