She certainly is a pretty girl!!! I love bays. I don't have an Arabian but I board at an Arabian ranch so I am surrounded by them. They are all but one straight Egyptian bred horses. And they are extremely long living horses - at least Ms. Jean's are. Two years ago her original old mare passed away at like 38 years of age. Ms. Jean bought her when she was foaled. Ms. Jean went onto showing all over the place and was standing several studs. She now has about 20 or so out there but there used to be over 100 horses out there.
My barn manager rides one they bred on the ranch. Legato is smart, sassy, and sweet as she can be. A few of the horses have a slightly cranky nature (all get from one pissy mare!) but on the whole, they are all well trained, well behaved horses. Many of them are retired show horses - the old stallion died last year at the young age of 30. In his day he was all of that and a bag of chips. He was a sweetheart. They gave children's lessons on that old boy.
If I was going to get another horse it would be an Arabian. They can go and go and go and be ready for more. You have to love their spirit and spunk! My QH Biscuit channels his distant Arabian past on occasion with his tail flagging as he runs around the pasture!
