Exclamation Arabian registration problems!!!

So, the people I bought my mare from no longer answer my calls or emails after a "kid safe" mare they sold to someone I know almost smashed their faces in. But on the paper work for registering a half arabian I need their signature for stating that this stallion was the one that bred this mare and such. But I can't get ahold of them!! What do I do???!

Are they close enough you can stop by to ask them to sign?

Can you not leave a message with them and tell them that you just want them to sign and you are not going to start any trouble?

The trouble is that they are at least an hour and a half away and I saw on their website (i've been spying) that they've moved. I have no idea where to and they won't answer anything from me because they think that we are still p.o.'d about the killer horse. They are back yard breeders using a 28yo emaciated arabian stud to breed every unrelated mare on their property and then not even bothering to get any of them reg at all. So their scruples are a bit lacking any way. Is their any way to contact the AHA and talk to them about this? Maybe they'd allow it if I was to put into writing that to the best of my knowledge this was the stallion that bred her. That stallion is the only one they had on their property at the time that deja got preg. so maybe..? UGH!! I hate previous owners!!

Contact the AHA and see if they have moved. Ive had to find owners quite a few times for transfers.

I know that they also don't tranfer papers because when I bought deja the name on her papers is still her breeder, not them. this seems fairly hopeless right about now..

Call the AHA - they'll tell you exactly what you need to do.

I had a smilar problem when my QH had to have his papers transferred to list me as the owner. He had been owned about 3 times between the last owner on his papers and me - AQHA tracked everyone down for me and got everything straightened out. Maybe AHA can do that for you :)

Ah, unfortantely you have a long hard journey in front of you if you want to complete this. The Arabian registeries are EXTREMELY particular about paperwork and they need EVERY bit of in place before they will proceed.

If she's still in the breeder's name, you may be able to get ahold of them and have them sign the transfer on her paper's, which would make it legal for you to transfer her papers.

Because she's still in their name, even if you have a bill of sale from the previous owners, you will need a signed document from her orginial breeders stating that they did indeed sell that horse to the party that you bought it from.

I just went through this with two of my Arabians, and it took me almost a year and a half to get it sorted out, but it finally did happen.
So, unfortantely, you are going to have to contact her orginial breeders. Tell them your story and see if they'll just sign the papers for you.

ah, another problem! I do have the contact info for the original breeders, but they did not sell the horse to these people. They sold her and her sister to an auction and then these people bought her. I do have the auction slip but it only says "black arabian mare" so I don't think that that will help. I may just give up and not bother. This seems like one problem after another, as I was just informed that my foal slid into the fence and now has cuts all over him. I am not really in the mood for more trouble. Thanks for your help everyone though!
