Most likely that could be true.
Same that other breeders breed for colour, or dish, or small feet, or whatever.
I generally like my Arabs are 14.2-15 because I find horses that size generally have better hocks and can get much more "catty" than the taller horses.

I rescued my Arab 15+ years ago. He is now 22-1/2.

Streeter is Polish-bred with a couple crosses to the brothers, Raffles & Raseyn, and also some Ibn breeding.

He 13.3H and has the most rock solid size 1+ (not two, but bigger than a legitimate one) feet a person could ask for.

I would give anything to be able to clone his gorgeous trail hooves onto all three of my Tennessee Walkers who are 15.1H, 15.2, & 16H.

They are all size ones but not near as tough of hooves as my little dollface Arab. His only hoof issues are how he wears them because of a vertebra injury that happened before I rescued him.

From all my time I have been with Arabians the size is diff. with ever horse.
I worked at the Arabian Nationals this year in Tulsa and seen them face to face everyday and believe me they have a huge range in size.
My Magnum Psyche colt is going to be very tall expected to mature to 15.3 to 16 hands.
My Pyro Thyme SA daughter is only going to be 14.3 hands.
My black Half/arab blackwind Jafar daughter is only 14.3 hands.
They are breeding them to be huge. Not normal for the breed to be 16 hands but nowdays thats what they want. the taller the better.

In SHIH it doesn't matter as much but in hunter pleasure they want them 16 hands. Same with english and deff. with Halter horses.
hope this helps

arabians can go from 14h all the way up to above 16h like your guy :)

most arabs ive worked with are somewhere in the 15h range
my guy is 15.2

yep alot of arabs and half-arabs, (you'll see some HUGE half-arabs) are being bred larger these days,
especially for hunters
