Breed of great grand father's horse

This is King Hi. My great grandfather bought him in the 1930's for $6 on his way to slaughter and was later chosen to be on the Army Equestrian Team and compete in the Olympics for the US! I have been digging up some history on them lately and was wondering what breed y'all thought King Hi must be. I only have one decent picture, but I'll post some extras for fun :)

Thanks and Gig'em!

He just looks like a thoroughbred to me.

This works.

I'd agree - my bet would be at least mostly TB. He's got nice curves ;) and a very TB-set tail... just looks pretty classic big TB.

His face isn't structured like a thoroughbred's....

But his body seems TB.

He reminds me of a warmblood though. Just the shape of his face and the "heaviness" to his body.

But I am no expert.

Great picture of his jumping. Very classic style - straight line from mouth to rider's elbow.

Is that your Great Grandfather riding?

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

His head almost looks andalusian like. He could be a Dutch WB? Awesome pics! I think I've seen the jumping pic before somewhere.
