Can a Pinto be Paint registered?

Info on pintos. We are looking at a very nice 10 year old pinto mare and waiting for the seller to send a copy of her pedigree. Does anyone know if some pintos are eligible for paint registery. Do they need to be quarter horse lines?

Hopefully some of you breed gurus can help me.

Paints are pintos, but not all pintos are Paints. Most likely if she isn't currently registered APHA, then she probably can't be. So I'm going to say most likely not.

Only if her parents are registered with either the APHA, AQHA or thoroughbred(don't know what association that is).

She must have at least one APHA registered parent, the other parent can be a registered QH (AQHA) or TB (Jockey Club), and she must meet the color requirements. You can look at the APHA registration guide book at http://www.apha.com/forms/PDFFiles/g...05RegGuide.pdf
