    Here is the one of them in the ocean. I live near Ocean City MD and we take our boat out into the ocean. Last year, ocean side of Assateague Island - Chincoteague ponies in the ocean...

    You can walk up to some of them and pet them... but if you get caught by the rangers they will fine you.

    I have been out on the beach and they have walked up to me... so I took a quick pet. :P
