Soon to be an owner of an Arabian. I personally love them. Although they don't always fit my needs in eventing, jumping and higher dressage, they represent everything a horse should be - power, beauty and spirit. The Black Stallion books were some of my favorites when I was younger.

My friend hates them for some reason. But she also doesn't really know how to have fun on a horse (no offence to her), so I make my own judgement.

I've never really been around any Chincoteague ponies, but I read Marguarite Henry's books, as well as her Mustang, Wild Spirit of the West. I do have experience with Mustangs, and love them. Helped trained a wild three year old (who now is ridable), and pony around on a little bombproof gelding. Loads of fun.

That's not the first time I've heard someone say that someone else hates arabs...God, it bugs me! My arab mare was my first horse, and it drives me crazy how everyone talks down about them. She's the best horse I've ever ridden to be honest- has enough power and heat when I want it, but a cool/level head when I want it too, and I find alot of arabs are like that. I got in a "discussion" with a vet I work with about arabs, and she was dissing them like crazy saying that "arabs are worthless, and too hot, and not good for anything" and I was like, excuse me...you do realize your precious warmblood's ancestors were arabians...right? Arabs have the endurance and conformation all horses dream of, usually. They are starting to breed "Quarabs" for that purpose, as well as a few other crosses. My mare is a great jumper and fits perfectly in the western events becasue she will change her headset depending on what I want. Very smart creatures as well. Maybe I'm biast, lol, but I'm crazy about that face! Lol

I knew someone was out there!

SAsamone, I'm love their faces too! I don't know why people don't like arabians, especially if they have never owned or been around one.

QuarterMileRun, seems like you have allot of horses on your hands! Oh course, horses are lovable so, I could probably get one, then see another little sweetie, and buy her too, and then before I know it I have a farm!

MissMeghana, that is so exciting! Please post lots of pics when you get him!

I know that I have an awkward way of replying, but, it works!
