CLEVELAND BAY BREED - who has one? do you like them? facts!

I think there just so cute!! I love there rich red dark dappley bay, with there striking black points!

So, does anyone own one?
Ridden one?
think there awesome?

or anything else about them!

facts -
Did you know there are only around 550 reg. Purebred Cleveland bay horses around the world!

They made the Oldenburg, and Improved many other breeds, such as the Hanoverian.

They are the ONLY pure Warmblood left in the WORLD!

The royal families replaced there black Hanoverians with Cleveland Bay's to pull there carriages, and still used today.

There are extremely fantastic jumpers, especially when crossed with Thoroughbreds!

That's my dream horse..... my gelding (draft cross) actually reminds me of them somewhat although he's more drafty. There is a ranch in Canada that raises some absolutely gorgeous ones!

I once owned a 16hh Cleveland Bay / Thoroughbred cross for a couple of years. He was a lovely boy, and a real character, but I eventually had to admit to being over-horsed! He was very strong and I decided to sell him on before I had an accident - never be afraid to admit you've got it wrong!! His behaviour was nothing to do with the breed - they are gorgeous horses - he just wasn't for me.

I've now own a 14.2 Quarter Horse and am in horse heaven!

I remember someone on this forum owned one and posted pics. Definitely very nice looking horses.
