    Could he be an Appy?

This is my gelding, Harley. He was sold to me as a QH but the previous owner really doesn't know what breed he really is. He was rescued by her from slaughter as a yearling and really doesn't have any prior history. He is branded but we have no idea what its origin is. Thanks!

From the little I can see of him I don't see any appy as far as his build. If he is he has way more qh than appy in him. Those little white spots don't mean much because they can be caused by old injuries. My registered AQHA gelding has a few of those himself that have popped up over the years.

Looks more like scars from an old fungal infection or something similar then anything else to me.

They could be birdcatcher spots. Whats the brand look like?

I would like to see a side view. From what I can see, he does not have a typical Appy head.

Looks like a QH to me. I don't see Appy at all.

I'm not seeing any secondary appaloosa characteristics either. I agree with the above posters that he doesn't look appaloosa.
