' Du Coteau' - Canadian horses

Hey guys, I just recently bought a Canadian horse, I have papers from when he was born ( not registration papers), that list the dam, sire, and his micro chip number along with a few other details.

Anyways, i have been trying to track down his parents & the barn they came from. His Sire's name is Du Coteau Rebel Says, and his dam's name is Du Coteau Dandy skitten ( the given name for both parents are a bit hard to read because of the handwriting, i believe that's what they are).

I have found the grandsires on both sides aswell.

Although I have not found any trace of my guy's dam & sire, i have found quite a few Canadians starting with ' Du Coteau' - wouldn't this mean that all these horses were born at the same barn? If so, does anyone have any info about the place, or know of where I could start looking?

My suggestion is contacting Socit des leveurs de Chevaux Canadiens Canadian Horse Breeders Association they should be able to help you track down and info on your horse's parents.

If you go here CanadianHorseLink.com - connecting buyers and sellers of Canadian Horses there are about twenty horses with 'Du Coteau' infront of their name. Maybe ask if they know anything about your horse/dam/sire or the breeder? Either way by the looks of the horses I found on the website above your horse is pretty nice. Lol.

It's something you need almost like air or water. ♥

I can't find a record of registration for either of the names you mention. Perhaps they were miswritten or misread?

Here is a list of all of the offspring of Lambert Rex Rebel bred by Ferme des Berges (so, Du Coteau Rebel --- ): CLRC Electronic Herdbook - Search Results - Résultat

And the offspring of Excellence Fablo Dandy, bred by Ferme des Berges (Du Coteau Dandy ---- ) http://www.clrc.ca/cgi-bin/list.cgi?...u+coteau+dandy

You can search your guy's microchip number right on this page near the bottom: CLRC Electronic Herdbook - Association Queries, Questions concernant l'association

Good luck! Would love to see photos.
