how do you want to name the horse?
do you follow french standards with the letter each year and follow by the barn name they re born in ?

I don't know how it works, I think it depends on the year :S

yeah, its a new letter evey year, it follows the alphabet.
french do this with dogs and cats too but its not the same letter as for horses.
one of my cat, 5 years old, needed her name start with an "A" so it should be the letter " F" this year.

for horses i know this year was "A" cause i have to friends with two filly being born last month and they were looking for names starting in A

Whats with all the brands on them? What is the significance?

Spent a whole hour today laying in a pasture, waiting for a sparkling vampire to show up. Alas, I woke up and looked over, only to find a mound of horse crap. Sigh.

Exmoor Pony:

The 4 point star on the shoulder denotes official Exmoor Pony Society registration; the number below it is the pony's herd number. The number on the flank is it's individual registration number in that herd. Ponies in the 'Anchor' herd have no herd number but an anchor symbol on the flank above the individual number Exmoor Pony Society
