I hate to be the odd one out, but I think my least favourite crosses would be an arab cross. Mainly because any I have met are hot headed and not all that smart. Not to say there aren't some wonderful ones out there!!!

My favourite crosses would have to be appendix (QH x Thoroughbred). The ones I've worked with are smart and athletic. I also had a QH x Appy who was wonderful and taught me many many things over our 18 year relationship :)

I'm a fan of any cross that turns out well...either in their conformation, talent, or temperament. I've seen some God-awful ugly crosses that were perfect kid/beginner horses. Also seen some God-awful ugly crosses that were incredibly talented in spite of their appearance.

I completely lucked out and ended up with 2 very nice draft crosses.

Belgian x QH

And Percheron x Paint
Zora likes this.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

ok, here are some pictures of crosses I've had or worked with.

Technically a qh/appaloosa, but fully registered with the appaloosa horse association. This is pickles.

Paint x arab. I adored everything about this mare, except the fact that she was too spooky for trails.

Really cool gelding. Great trail horse, strong, powerful and super athletic. Belgian x appaloosa.

Paint/saddlebred. A bit of a conformational mess, but a very cool little horse with lots of heart.
