Florida Cracker Horse - Anyone familiar with?

Hi all! Am interested to know if any of you have had experience with Florida Cracker horses? I'm looking for someone who won't blow sunshine up where it's not suppose to be ;)

Been doing some research on breeds for the hubby and myself. He being a novice, and me not much better since I been out of the horse world for close to 30 years now. I been looking for something that has a great disposition, needs to be good for endurance as we will be using a lot of the Florida parks and trails for riding in and perhaps in a couple of years, endurance trail riding.

Any info you have or know of would be appreciated. I've found a few sites through Google but am looking for someone with info that has had experiences with them. Most information I've found comes from Florida Cracker Horse Association

Thanks!

Here's a picture of one.

I don't know much about the breed other than I heard something about them not having good immune systems. Don't know if there's any truth to that. Originated in Florida, probably through the Spanish.

Okay, awesome info and I will follow up on it and see what's up. Appreciate it!

And yes, they are of spanish stock and apparently were almost gone 50 years or so ago.

Thank you!

You've already done it ;), but don't quote me completely on what I said. I'm just going on what I read somewhere. Haha
Here's some more information on them. Doesn't say anything about immunity problems, so maybe that was false information.

Oh thank you! I didn't have this link :)

Well so far so good. I found a lady that has two two year old filly's she's selling. She lives just a couple of hours from us. We aren't interested in anything that young BUT she did offer to let us come down and spend some time with them so we could see their dispositions and stuff. She's owned Florida Crackers for quite some time so a brain picking session is being scheduled :)
