Angry Freisian Scammers....

You know, everywhere I turn I find another fraud being perpetrated about friesians. I have two & have rarely met a kind or decent friesian horse person (or horse person who didn't want to exploit my stallion). I am just disgusted. Now, when I want to find a nice semi-retirement home for my older one, either they're trying to scam me or think I'm a scammer. Think I'll keep my friesians- they're far kinder than any humans lately.

I know what you mean, I keep seeing several ads for friesians for "adoption", but it seems to be the same horse that happens to be in Ca, NY, IL... all at the same time.

These have been around for a while. I've posted a few times on this forum to warn people who were falling for them.

Also you seem to have it BACKWARDS. People LOOKING for the Friesians are the ones being scammed. Not the ones SELLING the horses, lol. Goodness.

So if one day you are looking for a good retirement home for your Friesian you shouldn't have trouble. However if you're dense and you fall for the 500 dollar approved Friesian stallion that runs barrels and does vaulting then ...well that's too bad.

My last post about the whole Friesian scam thing.
Hey Morganshow? heads up to anyone actually.

It's also extra funny when they use some well known horses photo like Hendrick the Magician or Romeo.

It is not just fresians - it's all breeds. Scamming is a way of life for some folks.

Good to know because I'd LOVE to have a fresian.. They don't come through acution all to much, so I'd have to search online I guess. I'm sure its not that hard though to see the scams, if you look out for them.... right?

Luckily we've successfully been a retirement 'home' for our team of bel/quarter crosses (one just passed away, but we'd like to think he had a good life his last few years!!), we actually stumbled across them at just the right time so we didn't have to worry about it being a scam (it was through a friend of a friend type of thing).. I couldn't imagine coming across a fresain to be a retirement home for! I hope that you (the OP) find a good home for yours, thru all the scams that you keep coming across!!

I'm sorry to hear about your experiences with various people in the Friesian world.

But the upside to getting to know some people, and why I joined this site, was to let you know that I have been blessed getting to know a few Friesian owners.

I was given the opportunity to take in a very young, retired show stallion and have loved every minute of the last two years waking up to my new lawn ornament.

I couldn't afford one to ride but I so love the breed that just being around him brings me some of the greatest and joyful times in my life.

I wish you the very best in all you do.
Keep your chin up!

Freisians are stunning horses with classic good looks and a highly romantisized image - think some hot guy riding a black stallion across the hills - and everyone who looks at one goes LOL O EM GEE I WNTS 1 IZ SO PURTY! So I'm not surprised things can sometimes end up a little backwards in the Freisian world. Still, I've always heard they're wonderful horses, and I'd like the opportunity to know a few of the breed someday.

I have noticed Friesian people are a hit or a miss. There is no in between.

Just sayin'.
