Guess on breed?

19 year old grade mare! Always curious as to what people think her breed is. She has feathered legs. I am pretty sure she is gaited, only got her to do it once though! Extremely smooth trot.

(Picture with the rider is not me, thus why its blacked out and I do know the bridle is messed up.)

So, what do you think is her breed?

How tall?

If she is gaited, I would guess Missouri Fox Trotter crossed with Quarter Horse.

Quarter Horse x something. I know nothing about gaited horses, but I know a quarter horse when I see one.

I've always seen QH in her, but her feathers and the one time I got an amazingly smooth trot out of her make me think there is something else hiding in there....

Quarter horses can have thick feathers depending upon their breeding. this horse could have some mustang in her, resulting in the feathers and her thick build. This would also account for her height.
Whatever breed it is that has contributed to the gaiting, you're not likely to get a precise answer when she looks so much like a quarter horse or mustang. Are you sure she was gaiting when you rode her? i used to think my gelding was gaiting at times, turns out he just had a really smooth trot without picking his feet up high.
