Wow, he's gorgeous. I could totally see fresian X qh either working out gorgeous like this one, or absolutely horrible.

If I had a dream horse, he would pretty much be it... Gorgeous.. I'm too blinded by his pure purdiness to see his flaws.

Gorgeous! I also have a buckskin Appendix/Friesian cross, but I'm only leasing her. I'm sadly parting ways with her in a month or so and she is headed back to her home.

What someone said is absolutely right. Some similar crosses come out very... odd with not the best conformation. Some come out great. This girl's full brother unfortunately got the not-so-good traits. I don't have a photo of him on hand but he has a very long, sway back. Personally, though I don't ever see myself being a breeder, I wouldn't cross these two breeds. One is stock based while one is Baroque

It's not that this is a bad cross...sometimes you get lucky like and get a beauty like this guy. But when you crossbreed some horses it's the genetic box-o-chocolates, you never know that you're going to get

I have a friesian/morgan cross gelding and while he looks like a mini friesian, I've seen others that look like they were put together by a committee

We grow too soon old, and too late smart.

A Morgan/Friesian cross makes more sense to me than a QH/Friesian cross. While the QH/Fresian cross in this thread turned out OK, I am having trouble getting my arms around why anyone would want to cross those two breeds...what would be the objective?

Good question. Could have been an "accident", perhaps. Perhaps the wrong horse got into the wrong pasture? Mistakes happen all the time but sometimes these are good mistakes.

No, people actually cross them on purpose. There was someone on here a year or so ago who had one that was a train wreck (or was going to buy one) and she kept going on and on about how the place she was getting it from bred them all the time and how amazing they were. When those of us who saw how awfully conformed the horse was spoke up, we were met with hostility and "She's a friesian cross so therefore she's perfect" attitude.
