Hackney to match Divo?

I'd really like to find a matching gelding to make a team with Divo. I doubt I'll be able to find a really, really, stunted Friesian or a FriesianxHackney like him that matches well, so I was thinking just a black Hackney with some decent hair on him. I gotta measure Divo to see exactly how tall he is, but I figure I should be able to find another black gelding in his height.

What do you guys think? Divo won't be cart broke for a few months yet, but I have visions of a little sleigh with two adorable little horses pulling it

Divo's dam is in foal to a Friesian again, but it's a pretty low chance it'll match Divo (and at $3500, that foal had better match!). But I was thinking that Hackneys are awfully cute and a lot of them are broke to drive at reasonable prices...

Loki's dam has been bred to the same stud and has produced...three or four foals, not including Loki. Not one looks remotely like him

I checked everywhere! Nothing!

He was being such a little show off today. I was riding Baby in his pasture and he did nothing but prance around and act like a little stallion trying to impress the ladies Baby completely ignored him, poor guy!

Where are you located? How tall is Divo and what is your budget... I'll see if I can help.

I hope you can find something to match him. I don't know if it is the same way with horses, but I do know that with mules, you need to match them for their stride before you worry about height and appearance. When we first started driving John and Bess, I was really worried that they wouldn't match up because John is so tall and leggy and Bess is shorter with really short legs. However, under harness, Bess takes big steps and John shortens up his stride and they actually match really well for a team (don't as far as appearance goes but.....).

Divo can match my stride beat for beat (and I'm awfully slow ) so I don't think matching strides will be too terribly difficult. He can shorten and slow waaaaay down, or really stretch and speed up (if I go at a dead sprint). We often go dashing down the fence line, he'll canter to catch up if I'm a ways down already then slow down into that pretty trot of his.
