Hall of Fame?

So hopefully this is in the right section, if not I apologize. But we are trying to get a horse all you appaloosa lovers should know into the hall of fame. I was up all night with Lynn and Urcula last night putting the finishing touches to the book for this year. Last year he missed out by only 2 votes. So we are hoping with all the new additions we made, he will be accepted.

Who is this horse you ask......
KING PLAUDIT
Foundation stallion of Wallace Barbee's Bar-B Ranch, which was home to many world and national champion Appaloosas. King Plaudit himself was retired from the show ring undefeated. Among other awards, he had earned 37 Grand Championships. He has produced many World, and National, champion sons and daughters.

Thats right.... the horse on all of you ApHC members.... membership card.

What are my connections with him.....
Lynn is a friend of my family and was also married to Wallace Barbee. And I have 3 awesomely bred appaloosas from her.
So keep your fingers crossed. We will know if he made it by Dec. 15th. And im sure to let you all know. If we didnt.... we will shoot again for next year.

Many people have sighed for the 'good old days' and regretted the 'passing of the horse,' but today, when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses. ~C.W. Anderson

Oh I will. And if he doesnt get in.... any one with appaloosas goin back to him.... it would be helpful if you sent pictures and info (i.e. show records, experiences with that horse, bloodlines, age, ect) for next years book. Im hoping with the extra added 50 pages this year.... will be enough.

King Plaudit was a great horse and Appaloosa sire-- congrats!

Just one correction though-- Orren Mixer was commissioned to do a painting of King Plaudit by his owners. The horse on the ApHC membership card is not King Plaudit-- it is from a painting by Orren Mixer commissioned by the Appaloosa Horse Club, and it is not a specific horse, but an "idealized" image. The stance and build Mr. Mixer portrayed ARE similar.

Here is the ApHC painting on the left, and the King Plaudit painting on the right--
