it might be ribbon(no "s") and lace. It's a horse that was sold through the barn i ride at. She was such a big mare, i wondered about her breeding. I only got a quick look at some of the papers that went with her when she sold... thanks for helping!
Truth be told.. i was curious about HYPP. I was told the mare had "double muscleing" and that's why she was so big. And i think that's a sympton of HYPP?? Anything i know about HYPP and quarter horse i learned on HF. I've mostly ridden at english barns, so don't come across too many QH's. So, as my mind has been wandering here at work i wondered, "do people here in Southwest Ontario know about HYPP?" and if the person who bought this horse would even ask...
I'm not any kind of expert, but I think all HYPP horses trace back to Impressive. I don't see that horse in your mare's pedigree so I don't think it would have it.
HYPP is not an issue with this horse. She does not trace back to Impressive, you were correct. She is also older than the expected show time for HERDA, however, if you were to ever decide to breed her, you would want to have her tested for HERDA pre-breeding. HERDA traces back to Poco Bueno, and she IS a descendant of Poco Bueno.
Looks like she does have some halter influence in her lines, but she also has some cow lines sprinkled in there. Doesn't look like anyone really bred for a specific purpose in her breeding like you see in some breedings. She could probably be a fairly nice all-around.
She's not mine. She was a horse at the barn i lease/ride at. I was just using her as a learning opportunity (hypp, pedigree). She seemed like a nice mare. I really appreciate the help!
You're absolutely correct! - Impressive is the grandsire of my mare Star, (Ms Northern Star) and thankfully she is hypp n/n. I believe AQHA made it a rule as of 2007 that all descendants of Impressive are tested.....
