Can you see them now? And
ALSO. My coach knows her breeds.

But we both agreed this one is tricky. She has her guess. Im just asking to see what you guys think.

She also isn't into paints.. so she dosent know what kind of paint she is...

She has her GUESS? So she doesn't know...this is also her horse but she doesn't know what type of pinto markings she has??

I would guess some sort or appy-paint cross with a tad of foundation qh in there...she looks quite stocky and short legged.

Jeeze you guys. She dosent know! Whats the big deal? o_O Shes an awesome coach. I wanna help her out. She really dosent care about the breed or color as long as shes a good little mare.

Hope you guys can help!

She looks like a Pony of America (POA) and paint cross. She has the LP gene from the POA (just like an Appy) and what looks to be tobiano from the paint side.

yeah alot of people have and take care of horses without properly knowing colors! i know old cow boys who take fantastic care of their horses and call paints "spotted horses" and bays and such brown horses. and she may have just gotten the horse not to long ago and not know the color yet. not everyone is brushed up on their colors ; )

^^ Yep. Just because you aren't a color guru doesn't mean you can't take care of your horses well or have lots of knowledge on them...?

Thank you ! I dont see why it was such a big deal. My coach is amazing... she dosent care about breed or color as long as its a good working horse.

When people ask her you dont know what she is.. she goes I know what she is.. a Good working school horse

My issue is just a personal pet peeve with people breeding unknown breeds to unknown breeds and also not taking the time and effort to research their own horses. When breeding I believe it should be a well bred horse to another well bred horse, and preferably something that qualifies for a registration of some sort. There are enough really good working school horses without breeding more, and affording one while horse prices are so ridiculously low isn't too terribly hard.

Sounds like this mare was given to your coach pregnant though? In which case, fine it was a gift horse that she just didn't take the time to research and she's going to get a baby no matter what.

I don't know if this topic really requires any rudeness....And 'accedents' are sometimes far more of a gift than you make it sound Zeke.

She is cute, and if she's a good girl, then that trait will hopefully pass on to her foal. If she's a poa she'll be a hardy, sturdy horse, and her foal will follow suite.

Her coloring is definitely a 'pintaloosa' with what looks like a combo of tobiano and sabino, which adds to the odd combo of markings as well as the roaning. Depending on her genes she could be a chestnut with the sabino gene, or she could be a red roan, which is more of a sorrel, not that I'm a genetics guru, but I read up on ALOT of colors and gene combination.

In other words...she's a wonderfully unique horse and if you feel you need to say more than she's just amazing, tell them that she's a red roan pintaloosa just to keep it simple and not get all into her genes lol.

Hope all goes well with mare and forthcoming foal.
In the uk we would say she is a Skewbald which is the term for a red and white horse. The red markings on your pony look strawberry roan, but we would still class her as a skewbald.

As for breed I would say she has a few lines there. She does look like she has both horse and pony lines in her. her head being quite horsey.

Hope all goes well with the foal x

Rudeness isn't needed, I already said it was simply a personal preference that an owner take the time to research the horse they own, especially when in foal. Why attack a personal opinion? I'm no expert, ignore me if you chose.
