Me neither... You know, Native Dancer is another big one, along with Tom Fool and of course Man O' War, which I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, is War Admirals father, which would also link you to Hastings.....
If you follow his sire and dam back, he is about as well bred as an ASH can get. He has about 5 foundation sires and 3/4 foundation mares back there, and goes back to Abbey on one side and Bobby Bruce on the other (pretty much the two most influential sires of Australian Stock Horses) Makes me so proud of my boy!
For www.allbreedpedigree.com, it will link to the parents for you, if they are in the database, or you can add as many generations as you need to get to a horse already in there, if needed.
I'm fascinated with pedigrees, Velvet's especially . I've traced hers all
the way back into the 1600s, most of it you can see on allbreedpedigree-
Velvet Dakota King Appaloosa
I'm a foundation appaloosa person, and Velvet is is in the 90 percent range, but I am very proud to say that two of the non-apps in her pedigree are War Admiral, and his sire, the great Man O War himself!
Appylover- Velvet and Tory Gem are related through Joker's Monte!
I got my pedigree from http://www.equineline.com. I wish i could get my horse's parents' race records from the site but i dont want to pay money for it =/
Bayberrys registered name is "TV SPECIAL" and his sire is Deerhound. He's a well known thoroughbred in the Maryland racetracks. here's a site with some info about him.
Something cool I didn't know about on allbreedpedigree until recently, is if you hover your mouse over reports, there are options you can choose. I think the the photos one is pretty neat!
My TB Cheyenne isn't a registered TB (never raced) and I dont' know his parents' names, but was told his grand sire (or maybe it's great grandsire) is Bold Ruler. If I recall correctly, he is double bred Bold Ruler.
Sierra's (mini) is the following... I own both her sire (Tracker) and dam (Cocoa), so I'm not posting them separate Cheyauts Perfect Attraction Miniature
T V Special's sire Deerhound had 1 start in England in 1991 earned 0 and had 4 starts in the US in 92 with 3 wins $39,420. His dam Peggy's Consul was unraced. I think all large barns should have sprinklers, smoke detectors, and have stall doors that open to the outside(in case of sprinklers not working well enough horses could be got out without going in the barn). I really hate reading abut horses dying in barn fires. Most if not all of those deaths were preventable. Three of my horses are on pedigreequery. They are Uncle Rocco,Some Luck, and Love Pristine. My 33 year old mare came from an auction many years ago and I do not know her pedigree. All my Thoroughbreds have multiple crosses to Man O'War.
I agree with you on the barn fire issue, you'd think that some of the top barns in the country, well any country that is, would have some kind of alarm system. too many of them are happening and we're loosing some of the top horses.
I love www.pedigreequery.com It shows you how much the horse actually won Its The Sandman Horse Pedigree. It also shows you pictures of your horses line if you go under reports.
My boy was a big winner but the owners never entered the info. I guess he won around $250,000. I know the people who raised him and they are so happy that they know he has such a great home. They are well known here in Minnesota as really great breeders that take care of their horses.
My boys grandsire is Seattle Slew and Bold reasoning and Bold Ruler are in his line.
When I was looking at the photos I thought om my god Round Table looks exactly like my boy!!
And it is so funny to look at all the pictures of these horses with long backs because my boy has a long back too!! lol
I am so proud of my boy he is a true loyal and loving Thoroughbred!
Our mare dreamer has my favorite lines of our herd. Dry Sark Quarter Horse
a lot of QH champions and sire of champions
dry doc, doc bar, poco lena, three bars, king, percentage, and many more
chelsea our horses are related lol
my horse has man o war war admiral spearmint doc bar three bars poco bueno godolphin arabian but all arabians are supposedly related to him a LONG way down the line diablo is a mutt lol all his breeds are in my siggy
Well, all of mine are registered paints, and have some neat ones in the blood lines.
For my Dixons Red Hot Ember Dixons Red Hot Ember Paint
In her bloodlines she has well known ones such as Ropers Sullivan, the Ratchett, Mardell Dixon (double breed), Skippa Rope + Skippa Hi, Rope N String, Snippers Reed, and they go back to Three Bars.
For my Spicy Splash Spicy Splash Paint
Splash is Ember's mom so all the same names listed above, and going back just a little further she has Spicey Sullivan, Silky Son, Sonny Go Lucky, Ruckin String, Skippers Lad, Reed McCue, Pep Up and Sonny De Bar. Whats neat about both Ember and Splash is not only that some of the names are on the papers, but there are tons of speed indexes listed and above 100.
And finally, my soon to be newest addition, Red White N Diggen Red White N Diggen Paint
The names are on paper, and follow strong all the way through, such as Tejon Please, Chic Please, Smart Chic Olena, Smart Little Lena, Doc Olena (triple breed), Tejons Peppy Doc, Peppy San Badger (double breed), Mr San Peppy (triple breed), Durn Cutter, and Colonel Freckles. There are other outstanding cutters in her mix too but too many to list!
So there are some of my fun ones! The neat thing is that with mine the showing hasnt stopped and I am very optimistic to see how they do as they come up!
