    Yearling
My APHA gelding was 13.3/14hh up until he was about 5 or 51/2 years old, we sent him to the trainer (late because he was a runt) and he shot up to 15.2hh.
However his mother (my AQHA mare) matured at 14.2hh when she was 3.
So it depends on your horse.

I, too, have a little Arab baby. At 18 months my fella was 14hh and now at 2yrs and 1 month he is 14.3 and 1/2hh. I did the string test which is where you take a string and measure from the armpit to the ground and then take the measurement and go from the armpit up past the withers to however high it goes. That gives a rough estimate of the height that they will end up being. It put my guy at 15.1-15.2hh. I hope that explanation made sense...

Keep in mind as well that if he seems to be getting taller a little slower even though he's being fed all of the right things it is okay. I went to the Scottsdale Arabian Show and was thinking that my guy was so much smaller than the yearlings and yadda yadda yadda but really they just bulk them up before the show so they look their best and your guy is maturing in a healthier way and just as quickly as he should be!
